Welcome to the inaugural post for the Avatar D20 Development Blog! Although this blog page has been in existence for a while, this is the first post I've made on it.
Let me introduce myself. Name's Chase, and I've been playing tabletop role-playing games for a long time. Almost a decade. A few years ago I decided to try writing materials, starting with modeling new player races in D&D 3.5e, as well as adventures (one of which was actually published). This is something new for myself and my group, however. An entire game system (sure, based off of an existing game), customized.
I was introduced to Avatar: The Last Airbender about two years ago, though like most adults which are shown a "children's show," I was skeptical. This didn't last, and soon I was having serious conversations with similar-minded friends of mine about the show. We realized that this would make an excellent campaign setting for D&D (or really any fantasy RPG, though we decided D&D 4e due to it's modernity and simplicity). We laid down the groundwork.
Now, about a year after starting, we've finally been able to spend some serious time working on this beast. We had put it aside for a while, but now we're back in business, and it's looking great.
The purpose of this blog will be to release new information about the progress of the game for those interested, organize playtesting, and to provide download links for the materials when they become available. The next post after this will be the current progress of the game.
